Langos- Hungarian Fried Bread

You can always find some type of bread in our European household, but this one is a staple. So easy to make and goes great with everything. You can enjoy it by itself with some jam our sour cream/cheese mixture. But it’s even better served with soup and/ or pasta!

You need...

🍞 5 tablespoon Of sour cream

🍞 1 package of active dry yeast

🍞 1/2 cup of milk

🍞 1 teaspoon of salt

🍞 1 egg

🍞 3 1/4 of flour

🍞 4 cups of olive oil

1. Using a paddle attachment on an electric mixer, mix all ingredients.

2. Cover and place in the fridge for at least 1 hour, but overnight would be best. 3. 30 minutes before frying, drizzle some olive oil on top and massage the dough. 4. Heat oil in a frying pan.

5. Cut dough into two inch squares.

6. Using your hands, stretch dough. You want to make sure you don’t rip the dough.

6. Place in oil and cook. Each side will only take a minute or so.

7. Place cooked langos on a plate lined with paper towel to remove excess oil.

Serve with jam or sour cream on top!
