Hungarian Beef Sauce

One of my favorite childhood meals. It’s mouthwatering 🥰🥰🥰

You need...

🍴1 lb of cubed beef stew meat

🍴2 tablespoon of olive oil

🍴1 medium size white onion

🍴1 medium size green pepper

🍴 2 gloves of garlic

🍴 2 tablespoon of Hungarian Hot Paprika

🍴 About 2 cups of beef broth

🍴 1 teaspoon of sea salt

🍴 1 teaspoons of fresh ground black pepper

🍴 1 cup of fresh, sliced white mushrooms

🍴 1/2 cup of sour cream

🍴 1 tablespoon of flour

1. Heat up oil in a skillet.

2. Brown meat on all sides to help lock in flavor.

3. Wash and dry green pepper.

4. Finely chop onion and green pepper, and mince garlic. 5. Once meat is browned on all sides, add step 4 ingredients.

6. Cook for five mins on low heat.

7. Remove from heat.

8. Stir in paprika really well.

9. Add beef broth slowly. Add just enough to cover this meat. You don’t want to drown the meat but you also don’t want it dry. Place skillet back on the burner.

10. Cook for 2 hour on low heat, Stirring occasionally. You want the meat nice and tender.

11. 1 hour into the cooking process: add salt, pepper and mushrooms.

12. Cook for one more hour and then remove from heat.

13. In a bowl mix flour and sour cream really, really well. 14. Add one cup of sauce to the sour cream mixture. Whisk til combined. Then add sour cream mixture to the meat sauce. This will help thicken the sauce.

Serve with noodles, mashed potatoes or rice.
